Ten years ago, eight young people came through the door of the Peace Center. In late June, the Peace Center helped them celebrate exciting milestones in their educational lives.

Denim, Enyri and Jaiden have graduated from 8th grade and are preparing to enter the exciting world of high school. Denim will attend Warren Easton Charter High School, Enyri will attend McDonogh 35 College Preparatory High School, and Jaiden will enter John F. Kennedy High School.

Bequan, Edgarson, Jaden and Kayla completed four years in high school and are preparing for new lives in other places. Bequan has been part of the work world for some time and will continue his employment at the Audubon Aquarium. Edgarson will travel to Houston as a first-year student at Texas Southern University. Jaden will begin his college days at Louisiana Tech. Both boys will join the music programs at their schools.
Kayla will begin her studies in the nursing school at DelGado Community College.
Derrick graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Computer Science. He plans to move from the Big Easy to the Big Apple to put his talents and skills to work there.

The Peace Center has been blessed to be a part of the lives of these young people. They gave us great memories, and it was so fun to watch them grow up and see so much potential. We celebrated them and their accomplishments with an ice cream sundae social and special gifts on Sunday, June 29.
