A visit from New Orleans Coadjutor Archbishop Checchio

The Peace Center was setting up for a game of bingo when it received a surprise guest: Coadjutor Archbishop of New Orleans James F. Checchio.

Sr. Pat Thomas, co-director of The Peace Center, said she had invited the archbishop to come to bingo but had not had confirmation of his visit, so it was a pleasant surprise when she saw him helping some of the seniors from their car, including a 99-year-old who attends the bi-monthly games and won that day (she credited the archbishop for her luck).

Archbishop Checchio visited every table with greetings, then blessed everyone at The Peace Center before leaving.

"Everyone felt special that day." Sr. Pat Thomas said.

With Jesus at its heart, the Peace Center strives to build peace, preach, and be peace with residents of the surrounding area. Make a gift to The Peace Center here.
