Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Day serves up hot meals

On Saturday, January 17, The Peace Center teamed up with Percy Marchand and IMPACT 504 to serve hot food to our neighbors as part of Martin Luther King, Jr. service days.

The plates included red beans and rice, pork chops, mac and cheese, and a slice of king cake with a glass of lemonade or iced tea. Food service began at 1:30 p.m. and food ran out an hour later!

IMPACT 504 was recently awarded a grant from the Dominican Sisters of Peace Shalom Fund, which was immediately used to provide a breakfast service on that same morning, and a lunch on Monday, January 19.
